The trebuchet (tre-bu-SHAY) was the ultimate artillery weapon of its time and the most highly evolved catapult-type weapon. It was able to fling 300lb projectiles at enemy fortifications from well outside the range of the defender's archers. Massive rocks, diseased livestock and annoying minstrels could be delivered to your enemy with equal ease.
